Mr Sanjeev Sanyal is an Adjunct Research Fellow at IPS and is currently based in Singapore as Chief Economist for the region at Deutsche Bank. He has spent more than a decade studying Asia's emerging economies. He also maintains a number of other attachments: he is a Director of the Green Accounting for Indian States Project; Member of the Steering Committee of Urban Age (at London School of Economics), Advisor to Aavishkaar, a pioneering micro-venture capital fund that was awarded the UN's World Business Award in 2006.
Mr Sanyal has a BA(Hons) from Delhi University and two Masters' degrees from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
He was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship for 2007 for work on Global Cities.
