Synopsis |
||
|
Much attention has been focused on Iskandar Development Region (IDR), located in Southern Johor, following the announcement of its comprehensive development plan in late 2006. The political leadership on both sides of the causeway had also signaled their support and expectations that the success of IDR will benefit both Singapore and Malaysian economies. Yet, the outcome of the recent Malaysian elections has made many stakeholders nervous about the future of this mega project. Mr Manu Bhaskaran has completed a study commissioned by The World Bank, on the impact and benefits of the IDR and will be presenting his findings and analysis at this meeting.
